Plai essential oil has long been in the "toolkit" of Thai massage therapists. It is highly regarded for its anti-inflammatory, analgesic, relaxing and rejuvenative properties.
It is from the same family as Ginger, although it's actions are stronger.

Plai essential oil has high levels of Terpinine-4ol, the constituent found in Tea Tree, considered to give the oil most of its antimicrobial properties. It is therefore useful for burns, cuts and healing tissue wounds.

Plai also has anti-inflammatory and analgestic properties making it a good oil for pain relief and joint pain. Although very similar to Ginger, Plai has an overall cooling effect rather than a warming one.

Plai essential oil has also been noted for its anti-histaminic action. Being a cooling and anti-inflammatory oil, it can be used to ease asthma attacks in some individuals.

Main theraputic properties: Analgesic Anti-neuralgic, Anti-inflammatory, Antispasmodic and a general tonic.

Contraindications: Considered non-toxic, non-irritating and non-sensitizing.
